Description

The GW Models Rolling Mill is a robust, hand-operated tool designed for model engineers who need to form smooth, repeatable curves in metal sheet. Ideal for shaping brass, nickel-silver, or copper into cylindrical or curved components such as locomotive boilers, cab roofs, tenders, tank sides, and more.

Each rolling mill is built from solid metal components for maximum rigidity and long life. The rollers are precision-machined and properly aligned to ensure even pressure across the full width of the sheet. A hand crank allows smooth operation and fine control, letting you gradually form the curve with minimal effort.

These mills are perfect for:

  • Creating boiler barrels for steam locos

  • Curving coach roofs or tank wagons

  • Rolling cab roofs or bunker sides

  • Forming scratchbuilt or kit components with clean, consistent arcs

The GW Models rolling mills are available in two sizes:

  • 6″ Roller – ideal for 4mm scale projects and compact workspaces

  • 10″ Roller – suited for 7mm/O gauge or larger components

Thanks to their simple, rugged design, these tools are easy to use and require very little maintenance. Their effectiveness and reliability have made them a staple on many workbenches in the finescale modelling community.
